World Whisky Award 2012 Yamazaki 25

Suntory opened its first whisky distillery in yamazaki in 1924 and its first single malt in 1984. A hallmark of Yamazaki is the use of many different shapes of distillers. Additional 5 oak barrels including Mizunara that Mizunara Mizunara will overwhelm the oak to create a more versatile original wine that will yield a distinctive finish for different vintages. Yasaki was first launched in 1999 to mark the centenary of Suntory’s founding. Yamazaki Distillery blends malt liquor from sherry casks aged over 25 years, producing only a few thousand bottles a year.
