Founded by Masahiro Takeshita, the first Japanese to study whisky distilling in Scotland, The Institute in Hokkaido has a similar climate and is known for its robust, smoky single-malt whiskies. Yu Cheng distillery imports malt from Scotland and USES a traditional coal direct-fire distiller, so it has a slight burnt aroma. Combined with the local cold weather, whisky can be slowly matured in the barrel, resulting in a strong, thick but delicate and elegant taste. This blend of the original wine matured by the distillery for more than 20 years is the best embodiment of Yu Shi Whisky.
