Kavalan Solist Fino

Fino, Spanish for ‘Fine’, is the driest and most pale of all varieties of traditional sherry wine. It is best drunk comparatively young. Traditional Fino wine is usually non-sweet and is best consumed shortly after the bottle is opened in order to avoid losing its flavour. Kavalan’s Fino, however, provides mild sweetness that excites the palate. Solist Fino was matured in top Fino Sherry butts that were used for the wine making. Nose: Big bold sherry aromas, dried dark fruits of raisins and sultanas, stewed plums and toasted figs. Dark chocolate, espresso, tropical fruits of mango and coconut, subtle citrus and green apples. Palate: Coffee vanilla dark fudge chocolates, smoked and toasted oak, Dried dark fruits, tropical fruits and some citrus to balance it out. Finish: Long and satisfying, dry sherry, soft oak and gentle spices.
